We do not have any phone jacks in our home (have been exclusively using cell phones for 5+ years) and now are interested in getting VOIP – is a phone jack necessary?

I have comcast as broadband, Vonage is my VOIP (no phone connections on wireless router).

I know I can use headset (mic.+speaker) but I want to have better quality and I want to avoid paying monthly rent to comcast for its Motorola cable modem, am also using trendnet wireless router and I want to know if is there any device which can serve all my purpose for example 1.cable modem 2.wireless modem 3.voip?

I am thinking of switching from Comcast VOIP to Vonage. Curretnly with Comcast I am able to plug a phone into any phone jack in my house to get sevice. If I switch to Vonage will I be able to do the same thing, without making any adjustments to houses main phone line?

I deactivated some of the features with the star codes like *86 and such. Does anyone know how i find a list of the codes for comcast telephone service?
