I am looking to get rid of my landline and replace it with a VOIP service. I want to hook up a phone to my computer and be able to receive and make calls. Would it also be possible to keep my current number from my landline that I have with Verizon?

I am not entirely aware about this service. So I would like to know how can I set up this service. What are the facilities I have to keep in my system. Expecting a complete helpful and favourable answer.

The speed of my Internet is plenty fast but I often have poor call quality. How much will an individual computer which the VoIP call is through affect the call quality?
I’ve went through all of the VoIP tests. I usually pass with flying colors. I use VoIP via the computer because I do a live podcast and I want the best sound quality possibly (closer to radio quality than phone).

i have a dsl line for internet but would like to use my computer to answer regular land line phone system , i do not want to go with a voip phone . just want to use my computer and modem like a regular phone . is there a way to do this?
