Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Specifications

At first glance, it looks like it was worth the wait. It’s a very stylish handset. All touchscreen phones tend to look pretty much the same to be honest. What distinguishes the 5800 is its sleekness: it’s much narrower than the iPhone 3G, in fact with a width of 52mm, it’s probably the narrowest touchscreen phone around. This means that you can easily operate it with one hand. It has a lovely big screen too, with a very high resolution (640 x 360 pixels), which helps to make the user interface easier to use. The device has a wide range of input options: finger touch, stylus and plectrum with a virtual alphanumeric keypad, full and mini QWERTY keyboards and handwriting recognition. The display will rotate automatically when you turn the phone to landscape mode.

Now, you’re not the only one waiting for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. A legion of touchscreen phones have been busy delivering more and better, and owning that market. They sure won’t be giving Nokia and S60 5th the warmest of welcomes.

Music quality was satisfying. The sound was comparable to other Nokia Xpress Music phones. Our tracks had warmth and they didn’t sound overly tinny or bass-heavy. The external speakers had a decent output and, unlike on voice calls, the sound wasn’t distorted at the highest levels. As with most music phones, using a headset will provide the best experience. The included headset does a decent job, but you can use your own headset, thanks to the 3.5mm jack.

Acer F900 Specs

Since the beginning of written history, there have always been people or entities trying to conquer the world and smartphones make for a genuine “threat”. A growing number of surveys indicate that smartphones are becoming increasingly widespread and the trend is to accelerate in the coming years. In this train of thought, it can be expected that manufacturers that haven’t come up with their own smart devices yet will try luck. Acer makes for an illustrative example. Their Windows Mobile handsets didn’t take long to roll out after the company took over Eten and now the rumor has it that Android-based cell phones are to follow soon.

Acers smartphone range includes four devices as of now, with the F900 being one of the most technologically advanced of them. Its equipped with 3.8-inch WVGA screen and personalized Acer Shell running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. What is in the box?

On the matter of web browsing the F900 has Opera Mobile included and as you’d expect from the tried and trusted Opera browser, it does a decent job of rendering webpages, looking much like their desktop equivalent only smaller. Opera seems to be speedy enough though. However, one area that does cause a problem with Opera is the g-sensor or accelerometer. When you rotate the handset in your hands to a landscape orientation then naturally you want the screen to rotate to suit but for some reason Opera simply refuses to play ball most of the time which is quite annoying!

We’re often asked about texting and text entry on handsets. The F900, as you would expect, has all the standard Windows Mobile text-entry methods from handwriting recognition to the normal QWERTY keyboard. You probably wont want to use the normal WM QWERTY as on the 480×800 screen it’s tiny and not easy to use even with a stylus let alone with your fingers. Thankfully Acer have included their own larger QWERTY keyboard for text entry and this takes up just over a third of the lower part of the display. The ‘keys’ are well spaced and large enough to press with your fingers without having to resort to the stylus. Text entry is otherwise uneventful.

Getting A Cell Phone Gives You Too Many Choices

Cell phones have never been cheap, especially when you factor in the monthly plan. That plan that you get locked into for at least a year is a major reason why some people still balk at getting a cell phone. When you buy something like a mobile phone for the first time, it is good to know exactly what you want and need. That way you wont get talked into something more by an aggressive salesperson.

For many years now, having the latest and greatest gadgets has been something that some people must have. New things like flat screen televisions, MP3 players, cell phones, and fancy laptops keep evolving and the manufacturers keep coming out with new models. Unless you are older and just dont care about getting the latest gadgets, it is hard to not be tempted into buying the newest and most expensive models.

Cell phones are expensive and not everyone can afford to buy them new. These people have to find a good place to buy used models and online is the best place for that. Fortunately, many people sell their used models on Ebay and Craigslist where you can go to get a good deal. If you dont care about buying the newest phone, online sites like those give you a place to go to get something more reasonably priced.

When looking for the best cell phone carrier deals, you might benefit by being patient and looking for good promotions. There is a lot of competition in the cell phone industry and that means there are promotions going on all the time. If you pay close attention to what is being offered, you might be able to get what you are looking for at a reduced price as long as you are willing to wait for the right deal to come along.

As more manufacturers add new capabilities to their phones they keep on getting more and more advanced. One has to wonder if people really need all the new features and it seems that some of the phones are nothing more than expensive toys. If you dont care about all the latest technologies added into the newer phones, you will be able to find older phones that people are trying to unload. If you can get a good phone for a cheap price and then not get overcharged for a plan that is more than you need, you will be able to afford your first cell phone.

Sony Ericsson Aino Excellent Specifications

With 8MP camera, excellent sound quality and A-GPS with Google Maps and touchscreen control for your media functions @ attractive price Sony Ericsson Aino makes Excellent choice for users.

Sony Ericsson has just released a mobile phone called the Aino which is able to sync wirelessly with a PS3. I am not certain if this is the first mobile phone to connect to a video game console, but if it is, then it is a long time coming.

The Aino is clearly a phone that Sony Ericsson expects to do well. They’ve put a lot of trouble into the design of the phone, and even more effort into the advertising. So why give it such a stupid name? We have trouble saying the name of this phone without sniggering.

The first thing you notice is the weighty feel of the handset (as well as the startlingly dark hue the Obsidian Black is sporting, with your eyes feeling like they’ve been sucked into a vortex of mobile phone gravity). It’s a reassuring weight, with a button layout that will be familiar to a number of the Sony Ericsson fraternity.

We like the Aino, but it’s not perfect. Gripes include the keypad, the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack, and the general feeling of the phone being overpriced. Looking at the positives, you get a great looking phone with powerful multimedia features, remote Play support for your PS3, and plenty of extra accessories for your money.

Sony Ericsson Aino Features:

* 8 MP camera * Traditional keypad and touch User Interface * Media Home and Media Go easy to transfer all your multimedia * Remote Play with PLAYSTATION3 * Listen to music in amazing quality * Matching Wireless Stereo Headphone MH100 and desk stand charger EC100

Sony Aino is available in two colours Luminous White and Obsidian Black.

Sony Ericsson Aino Technical Specification:

Finding A Deal On A Free Cell Phone

Finding a deal on a free cell phone is easier than one might think, especially if one is looking for a range of services from a wireless provider. However, there are also programs out there that have been set up by the government to help people obtain a free cell phone and the airtime to talk over it for those customers who meet certain income criteria.

This can really be something for those who just can’t afford even those pay-upfront cell phone packages. They may not even be able to afford a stand-alone telephone in a home. What is for certain these days is that going without some kind of communication device such as a telephone or cell phone can really put a person at a disadvantage, including when it comes to an emergency situation.

A number of companies and organizations exist — with all having websites on the Internet — that will aid in helping the person get their free cell phone. Not only will they get the phone, but they’ll also have regular cellular service and a certain number of minutes per month which will roll over if they are not used. They will have to provide proof that they meet certain income guidelines, though.

Generally speaking, those who might qualify for a free cell phone under this sort of government program will already be participating in one sort of federal or state assistance program or another. This can include living in public housing, drawing food stamps or those who are on Medicaid. The fiscal ceilings are actually not all that difficult to meet, either.

For the most part, people must be making less than-6% of the federal or state poverty level before being eligible to qualify. Additionally, nobody else within the household can currently be participating in one of these free cell phone programs. It’s usually the case, however, that no one else will actually be enrolled in this sort of program.

Keep in mind that anyone wishing to be approved for this sort of aid must also have a real home address and not just a post office box. And, those who hope to be approved will need to be able to supply proof of their participation in one of the programs discussed above. This also is generally no problem, as both the federal government and the states provide plenty of documentation.

What to know about obtaining a free cell phone, then, is that just about any wireless service provider is including these phones has a part of their many promotional activities, and it won’t take much to obtain one. Also, the federal government is currently helping to provide assistance in order to enable people to obtain a free or steeply discounted cell phone and cellular service along with minutes.

Should You Buy Your Kid a Cellular Phone?

Cell phones are a part of life throughout the world, that is hard to deny. But what is the appropriate age for a kid to have a cell phone?

There are both advantages and disadvantages to letting kids have cell phones. One of the reasons against the idea is that if you give kids phones when they’re young, you’ll spoil them when they’re young. And giving expensive items to young kids may encourage them to continue to ask for pricey toys as they grow older. Having a phone gives kids a direct link to other kids and activities that may interfere with some of the more important parts of their lives, like school and studying.

Looking at it from another perspective, there are some advantages to kids having cell phones. With phones, kids need to become more responsible and tech-savvy at a young age. It’s also easier for them to call for help or for anything else they need urgently. If they have phones, you can stay in touch or check in any time you want. Letting them have a phone will make them feel they are trusted and give them more of a feeling of independence.

When parents weigh the pros and cons, it’s true that the advantages win over the disadvantages. Of course, it’s important for parents to advise their kids on the appropriate use of cell phones, and to buy affordable phones that are easy to use and not a temptation to thieves. Simply put, parents know what their kids can and can’t handle, and definitely know best when deciding what their kids need.

It is the parents’ responsibility to either set limits or spoil their child when they provide their son or daughter with a cell phone. It is advisable to consider all of the aspects surrounding a child’s cell phone usage, and not just the advantages and disadvantages involved. These factors include the various cell phone features, the associated costs, where and when cell phone usage is permitted, and whether or not the child has access to the Internet. Depending on the perception of the parents, some of these features can be beneficial or inappropriate for children.
