I have already taken out the SIM card, my ex-boyfriend gave me the phone and now I just want to use it as an i-Pod touch. I just don’t want him to know where I am at all times and he said he downloaded or is registered to something that allows him to track the phone whenever he wants because of the GPS or some special number. It really freaks me out and any information on this would be so helpful! Thank you!

It’s hard to believe that only a year after the iPhone app store opened its doors on the web that nearly 60,000 iPhone apps have been created. Some serve important purposes. Others aren’t worth the battery juice they’ll sap.

Here are a few iPhone apps worth noting. Try a few on for size and see how they fit.

1. Hey Where Are You? While you may want to be trailed by the IRS or bill collectors, it helps being connected by letting friends and family know what you are doing and where. This iPhone app allows users to ask and answer the question, “Hey, where are you?” Keep up to date on where you are and what you are doing. Hanging out at the Cheers bar and want to kick it with a crowd? Let the crowd know you are there with the Hey Where Are You iPhone app. Like many iPhone apps available, this one makes it easier to connect and include people in your life.

2. Print and Share. Most printing intents end up as pipe dreams. Sure, I’ll get you that photo of us at the beach, as soon as I get home, power up the computer, find the photo in billions of computer files, hit print and then actually remember to do all that instead of falling asleep watching Leave It to Beaver reruns like I always do. The best intentions usually end up shelved unless we act right away. With the Print and Share, your iPhone is connected right to your printer. Have it start printing before you even get home. It takes a few steps out of the procrastination process, delivering results even before you make it back to your pad. It’s one of the better iPhone apps available.

3. Read it later. Usually, we find the most interesting material on the web when we least have time to read it. That’s why the Internet can be such a great source of time suckage as we find stuff we need to learn but always at the wrong time. Like many iPhone apps that make information easier, Read it Later allows you to save these web pages in your phone for further browsing. Don’t have time to read about tips for a bigger tax return during the middle of a big deadline? Read it Later allows you to save pages to your iPhone so you can read it at more convenient times, while you’re waiting for your hair care appointment or stuck at the DMV with nothing to do.

Stan Kermin writes blogs about the many iPhone apps that are changing the world. Read his blog in order to get the most out of your iPhone.

Mobile phones are now an essential part of our lives. They have now become especially useful in our busy schedules, make our lives easier and, for gadget lovers, more fun too.

Mobile phones are now an essential part of our lives. They have now become especially useful in our busy schedules, make our lives easier and, for gadget lovers, more fun too.

An often overlooked, but must-have accessory, is the mobile phone screen protector. Since mobile phones are now of significant value to us, it makes sense to protect them from our busy daily use. I bet every mobile phone you have had, become scratched and knocked within a very short time.

Screen protector mainly protects the screen of your mobile phone. The name says it all. A screen protector is made of clear plastic with an adhesive on the back which sticks on the screen of the mobile phone.

When you buy your mobile phone, it usually comes with a screen protector. No offense to the mobile phone maker but the stock screen protector they include in the kit isn’t that good. The back adhesive doesn’t stick that well and would eventually come off. Well, it may last longer than usual if your mobile phone is not the touch-screen type.

For those people who have purchased a more sophisticated device, such as an iPhone, Pocket PC or Smart Phone, the screen is more prone to scratches. A tap or run from a fingernail or stylus can often leave a scratch which cannot be removed. A good durable screen protector will stop your device from such problems, whilst also delivering a clear image.

Aside from scratches, you also need to protect the mobile screen from smudges, dust and lint. Sometimes, wiping the screen with a lint-free cloth isn’t enough, the dust maybe gone but the screen protector becomes blurry. The best solution to this is to get the brand of mobile phone screen protector that is washable and removable. This brand may cost more than the other brands but is definitely worth it because this one comes with a mobile phone back protector as well. So the screen and the back of your phone are both protected.

Considering the value and constant use of a mobile phone, a screen protector is essential. A protected phone will retain its value, look and perform better. And considering that a screen protector is a fraction of the price of your mobile phone, it would seem sensible to fit one.
