Can I swict my Skype Phone number to a different VoIP company?
My Account is about to expire and I found a better service but I would like to keep the same number , Any ideas on how to do that?

I have a VoIP phone service at home, and I thought somebody had told me that if you do a reverse phone number lookup on a phone number provided by a VoIP company, it can only be traced back to the VoIP company, not to the individual customer. Is this true?

i want to be able to give my frineds and colleagues in China a local phone number that will ring my VoIP phone in the US. This is basically the reverse of Yahoo’s Phone in service where Yahoo offers US phone numbers to domestic and international callers via VoIP.

I would like to port my number from one provider to another. The receiving provider says it takes as long as the sending provider take to port it and the sending provider says they have nothing to do with the porting and it’s all up to the receiving provider? Who’s right?

I only need one toll free number to run over DSL for my start up. That also supports call forwarding.
By toll free I mean an 800 number so people can call in and then I would sometimes need the call forwarded to my cellphone. Thank you.

At $250 for the kit and $40 to port, I would hope there would be better options than ooma. I have my [old] number with Vonage now, but would like to switch to something cheaper, like MagicJack.
