would like to replace my phone and use the computer but not VOIP. a modem and a regular phone line?

i have a dsl line for internet but would like to use my computer to answer regular land line phone system , i do not want to go with a voip phone . just want to use my computer and modem like a regular phone . is there a way to do this?

    Yes, but it’s VOIP. I don’t think there is a way around it.

    Currently there are only 2 options available for voice calls. A traditional PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) call using the traditional legacy equipment or a VoIP call using IP protocol. VoIP can be used anytime you have an Internet service. It makes no difference whether it is a cable modem, DSL or Fiber to the Home. There are 2 brands of VoIP, best effort Internet connection like Vonage or prioritize packet cable from the provider of the Internet service. There is a difference.

    yeah : at&t sells a device for 150 $ that can be connected to your phone and computer with a basic internet connection. They sell you minutes and you can call. BINGO
